Bold numbers use Unicode Mathematical Bold Digits (๐-๐) to create bold-looking numerals as plain text. Unlike HTML bold formatting, these characters display as bold everywhere โ social media, messaging apps, emails, and documents.
Bold numbers are useful for emphasizing dates, prices, scores, statistics, and other numerical information in contexts where formatting isn't supported. They pair naturally with Unicode bold letters for fully bold text.
The digits ๐ through ๐ are part of the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols Unicode block (U+1D7CE-U+1D7D7). They have excellent cross-platform support and display correctly on virtually all modern devices.
A subtle detail trips up anyone who tries to type these by hand: the bold digits do NOT sit right after the bold capital letters.
