Discord Fonts
Create fancy text for Discord using Unicode characters. These special fonts work in Discord usernames, server nicknames, channel descriptions, and messages. No bots or plugins needed — just type, copy, and paste.

Tips for Discord
- ✓Discord supports most Unicode characters in usernames and messages
- ✓Some styles work better in certain contexts — bold and italic are great for emphasis in messages
- ✓Zalgo and glitch text can make your Discord name stand out in member lists
- ✓Use gothic or old english fonts for themed servers
- ✓Small text works well for subtle annotations in messages
Markdown Covers Messages — Unicode Covers Everything Else
Discord is unusual among chat apps: it has real native formatting. Wrap a message in **double asterisks** for bold, *single* for italics, __double underscores__ for underline, ~~tildes~~ for strikethrough, backticks for code, and double pipes for ||spoilers|| — all documented markdown that works in any channel. If you only need styled messages, you may not need a generator at all.
The catch is that markdown works only inside messages. Display names, server nicknames, channel names, server names, custom status lines and your About Me render markdown as literal asterisks — those are exactly the surfaces where Unicode fonts from this page earn their keep. A gothic display name or small-caps channel name has to be built from characters, because Discord gives those fields no formatting of their own.
The Great Username Migration
Discord rewired its identity system in 2023: the old Username#1234 discriminator format was retired for unique lowercase @usernames restricted to plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods — no fancy characters allowed there. In exchange, everyone got a display name: a free-form field, changeable at will, that accepts a wide range of Unicode.
For styling, that split is the whole story. Your @username is your plain, unique handle; your display name is where 𝕬𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖙𝖎𝖈 happens, and per-server nicknames layer on top of that. Style the display name and nicknames, leave the handle functional, and your friends can still find you.
The Decorated-Server Aesthetic
Discord grew its own decorative dialect at the server level. Well-kept servers style their channel lists like menus — box-drawing characters and dividers framing channel names (┃𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀┃), small-caps category headers, themed emoji prefixes — because channel names, like display names, take Unicode but not markdown. Whole communities exist around server templates where the typography is the brand.
If you run a server, the same restraint rule scales up: one styling system applied consistently reads as curated; five styles at once reads as chaos. Pick a weight, pick a divider, and let the structure do the talking.
