About Hieroglyphics Translator
Egyptian writing had more than 1,000 signs. Some stood for whole words, some for groups of sounds, and a small set for single sounds. That last set works almost like an alphabet. This translator uses it to spell English sound by sound, the way museum name charts do.
The result is real text, not a picture. The signs come from the Unicode Egyptian Hieroglyphs block (U+13000 to U+1342F), so they copy and paste like letters. Most recent phones and computers show them. Some older devices show empty boxes instead.

Cleopatra and Ptolemy are not random picks. Their names, written in hieroglyphs inside cartouches, were the key that let Jean-François Champollion work out how the signs were read in the early 1820s. A cartouche is the oval loop that marks a royal name. If you want your name to look like a pharaoh's, draw an oval around it.
What this can and can't do
Egyptian scribes wrote mostly consonants and left most vowels out. Spelling an English name letter by letter is a modern habit. It is a fun way to write a name with real signs, but it is not how an Egyptian would have written it.
The tool also can't translate English sentences into the Egyptian language. "I love you" comes out as 𓇋𓇋 𓃭𓅱𓆑𓇋 𓏭𓅱𓅱, which spells the English words sound by sound. It is not an Egyptian sentence.

What is "I love you" in hieroglyphics?▼
Spelled letter by letter it is 𓇋𓇋 𓃭𓅱𓆑𓇋 𓏭𓅱𓅱. That writes the English words with Egyptian signs. It is not a sentence in the Egyptian language.
Does Google Translate do hieroglyphics?▼
Google's hieroglyph tool is called Fabricius. It was added to the Google Arts & Culture app in July 2020 and lets you learn about the signs and turn your own messages into them. For spelling a name with copyable signs, the box above is quicker.
Why does decoding give LOFE instead of LOVE?▼
Several letters share one sign. F and V are both the horned viper, C and K are both the basket, and O, U and W are all the quail chick. When decoding, the tool has to pick one letter for each sign.
Why do I see boxes instead of hieroglyphs?▼
Your device has no font with Egyptian hieroglyphs. The characters are still there. They will show up when pasted somewhere with a suitable font, such as a newer phone.
