The raw material of weird text is a quirk of scale: Unicode contains hundreds of characters that read as some version of the Latin alphabet. There are more than a dozen complete mathematical alphabets (bold, script, Fraktur, double-struck and their combinations), fullwidth letters from East Asian typesetting (Ａ), circled and squared variants, small capitals from phonetics, turned letters, and stray letterlike symbols scattered across the standard.
